Why RSS isn’t "All That”
I love my RSS reader. Currently I’m using Google Reader (more on that later). My style is to skim through the new posts and look for anything interesting. Sometimes I need to click on the post link to see it correctly. Other times I can read the whole thing in the RSS reader.
The other day I noticed an interesting fact. When I use RSS, I miss the entire look and feel of the blog. I miss the cool new header images. I miss the little sidebar widgets. This is true of my blog as well. I’ve updated by header image four times in the past six weeks. I’ve added a sidebar widget with my shared items from Google reader. But if you don’t look at my blog, you won’t even notice
