How I lost and the recovered my OST file
Yesterday I tried to unlock my Mac from screensaver mode. No matter what I typed, it wouldn’ take my password. Exasperated, I finally held the power button down and did a hard reset. Because I had a parallels window open running XP and Outlook, this caused a few problems. When I rebooted and tried Outlook again, it couldn’t find my OST file. I looked – it was still there. Maybe it was corrupted. ALl I know is that Outlook wouldn’t start.
I went on the web and did a quick Google search. Sure enough, the folks over at intermedia.net had a solution to my problem. I followed their steps to delete and then re-create my OST file. Then I downloaded my 285 MB of email. The whole thing took about 30 minutes. Thanks Intermedia!
